About RadiolabRadiolab airs on KPLU at 1 p.m. on Saturdays, following This American Life. Saturday Jazz Matinee can now be heard at 2 p.m.
Radiolab, an hour-long program focusing on scientific, philosophical
investigation of specific topics from several different angles, joined KPLU's Saturday afternoon lineup August 7, 2010. Through
stories, interviews, and sound design, the show attempts to approach
broad, difficult topics such as "time" and "morality" in an accessible
and light-hearted manner and with a distinctive audio production
style. The popular nationally-syndicated show is hosted by Jad Abumrad
and Robert Krulwich.

Jorge Luis Borges wrote, "Time is the substance from which I am made.
Time is a river which carries me along, but I am the river; it is a
tiger that devours me, but I am the tiger; it is a fire that consumes
me, but I am the fire," and it's as close a definition as we have. But
maybe if we slow time down enough, or speed it up enough, we can
unlock its secrets. On this week's show, we try and do just that. |
